Thinking about why you think what you think

Do you know why you think what you think?
Have you thought about why you do what you do?

Metacognition is the scientific word for thinking about thinking.

This week at InWORD OutWORD Cafe' conversations about communication, we want to explore with you the following question:

Do you think that thinking about why you think what you think is the first power step to strengthening and/or changing who you are?
THINK ABOUT IT AND SEND US YOUR COMMENT.

Have a wonderful day. It's always your choice!

  • To take charge of your life and start moving in a positive, full-filling direction, you absolutely must think about what your thoughts are. I believe it is the first step in changing your life, your perspective.

  • Metacognition is really somthing that should be made aware of to more of the population. I recently tried it out just for an hour, and I ws blown away by all of the irrelavent stuff I was thinking about, especially while reading and during the time that i was alone. These abstract thughts came out of nowhere and had little or nothing to do with what I was reading. Most of which of was negative, untill I focused on more positve things. After I did that I felt much better.

  • I do think that thinking about why you think what you think is the first step in changing who you are. You can't purposely change who you are without being aware of who you are and what you think. In order to be aware of what you think, you need to understand why you think what you think. You need to know the root cause for all the things you think and why.

  • I believe that it is very important for a person to be able to examine the reasons behind why they think what they think. Knowledge of self will always strengthen ones ability to change.

  • Thinking about what you think about is very important for an individuals personal growth. I believe inorder for someone to grow into the person they would like to become, they first have to start from a starting point. The perfect starting point is to understand why they thing the things they do. From that starting point some kind of self realization can take place and forward progress and focus can be organized into some kind of plan for success. All this hinges on the ability for a person to be honest with themselves.
